About Marcia Stehouwer

I have a great life (most days) and a small budget, so being frugal is one of my favourite hobbies. I started this blog after procrastinating for 3 months, on April Fool's Day. I knit, I read, I knit, I work... I am also about a quarter of the way through my goal to lose 100 pounds. So between knitting, working, reading etc., I also do some walking! EDIT: 2021. I am not closer to my weight goal, but moving forward. The budget is still small. We are renting our homestead and progressing towards our family dream!

More Joy for the Journey!

It’s March Break here in Ontario and I’ve been kind of busy. In a household that is “mid-dream”, I am embracing the chaos of that. I’m also trying to work ahead and this week’s Fitness Matters Podcast was all about … Continue reading

Me and White Supremacy

This is something I must face each day as I wake up in a home that is Indigenous. I am white. I am Dutch. I am a settler, a guest on Indigenous territory in a country on Native land. It … Continue reading

21 in 2021

The year is coming to a close and it seems to be time to make new resolutions. I’m rather tired of resolving to lose weight. I’ve been resolving that for years. Even with the guidance of a fitness and life … Continue reading

It’s the first week of July and cherries are coming from the Northwest US at $1.98 a pound. This is a fabulous price and I have already bought 10 bags. My first foray went to the dehydrator, the freezer and … Continue reading
