Journeys

I “started” this journey back in June, and I was so motivated….

How many journeys start with great ideas, good intentions and even a solid foundation of knowing that it is a good way to view life,

I’ve often reminded people, especially Emma, that life is both long and short and we need to consider both.  By that I mean – splurge once in a while, because you may not have the opportunity to do it again.  That’s why I got my hair done when I was in Paris.  I haven’t been back since!

On the other hand, life can be long.  Both my grandmothers lived to be over 90 years.  Being broke, being overweight, staying safe… will lead me to a life of regrets for not doing the needed things as they were needed.

I haven’t blogged for a long time, but it is time to begin to participate in my journey.  I hope some people will be inspired to join the caravan, but a caravan of one or two is just fine too!

Changes

For the past few years, I’ve given various levels of attention to my weight and the desire to simply lose one pound per year. And to be honest, it hasn’t worked well. I still go to TOPS, I still go to the gym – although not as regularly as I have in the past, but the numbers do not change much, sad to say.

Still, that is not a reason to throw in the towel, and it struck me, now that I’m 55, that I’m also ten years from “retirement” as it were, and that is a destination to move towards.

As I was pondering the lack of progress, it struck me that I needed to focus on the things I want to accomplish and of course one of them is to be at a healthy weight. But that’s not enough. I want to be strong. I want to be flexible. I want endurance. I want to rise up on wings of eagles. I want to walk and not be weary.

One small step...and repeat

One small step…and repeat

I want to begin again. Smaller goals, different goals, and perhaps friends to join me on the journey.

Have a good day! I’m off to grade papers.
